Vyalbe criticized Bolshunov and Ustyugov who collided during the race

Vyalbe called Bolshunov and Ustyugov sheep who decided to play on each other’s nerves

The head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, Elena Vyalbe, spoke about the collision between Alexander Bolshunov and Sergey Ustyugov during the race at the fifth stage of the Russian Cup in Krasnogorsk near Moscow. Her words are quoted by Match TV.

Vyalbe criticized the athletes and called them sheep who decided to play on each other’s nerves. “I hope this conflict will be resolved. Although in fact there was no conflict at first, everything was in a comic form, but something turned into hostility towards each other, ”she added and noted that this does not benefit anyone.

The clash between Bolshunov and Ustyugov took place on December 27 in the semi-final freestyle sprint race. The skiers, being in the leading positions, hit each other on the descent, after which they fell and could not reach the final of the race. As a result of the fall, Bolshunov smashed his face.

After the incident, the athlete said that Ustyugov specially cut him with skis, because of which he fell. At the same time, Ustyugov stressed that he did not do anything intentionally. The jury of the Russian Ski Racing Federation stated that the athletes were not to blame for the fall, which means that they should not be punished.
