The game

At the beginning of the first stage, Chelsea arrived with danger. Marc Cucurella tried a cross, but the ball took effect and scared the goalkeeper Ederson. A short time later, Christian Pulisic, after triangulating with the Spanish full-back and Kai Havertz, set up the shot, but it was stopped by John Stones.

In the 37th minute, Erling Haaland received a pass from Gundogan and finished dangerously above Kepa Arrizabalaga’s goal. At the end of the first half, Graham Potter’s men almost opened the scoring. Chukwuemeka dominated at the entrance to the area and finished off the crossbar.

Unlike the first half, Manchester City started better. Right at the start of the second half, City came close to clearing the scoreboard. De Bruyne crossed and Aké headed the post. In the sequence, Thiago Silva finished close to the goal of the Brazilian goalkeeper.

At 14 minutes, Bernardo Silva adjusted for the number 17, who finished to the left of the goal. Shortly thereafter, City managed to convert superiority into goals. Jack Grealish passed to Riyad Mahrez, who played in the back of the net.

Despite being ahead on the scoreboard, Manchester City remained in the attacking field. Thus, De Bruyne gave a beautiful pass to Haaland, who failed to complete the goal. On the other side, Chelsea nearly equalized in stoppage time, but young Hall squandered the chance.
