Ice dancing world champion Victoria Sinitsina spoke about performing a life-threatening stunt on Tatyana Navka’s show “Scheherazade”. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
According to the script, in one of the episodes of the show, a fire lights up around the figure skater playing the role of Scheherazade. Navka called this element the most dangerous in the production and stated that the athlete almost burned out. “The first time I was a little uncomfortable. It’s a strange feeling when there is fire around you. Now it’s normal, I’m already absolutely used to it, ”Sinitsina explained.
On August 14, the coach of Sinitsina and her partner Nikita Katsalapov, Alexander Zhulin, said that the athletes had made a joint decision to retire. However, in the evening of the same day, the skaters denied this information.
Sinitsina is a silver medalist at the Beijing Olympics. In their asset with Katsalapov there is also the gold of the World Championship (2021) and two gold medals of the European Championship (2020, 2022).
