Liverpool reinforcement Gakpo shows ambition: “I can learn a lot of things”

Gakpo arrives at Liverpool one of the highlights of the Netherlands in the World Cup in Qatar. The striker scored three goals in five games in the tournament. The European team reached the quarterfinals, when they lost to Argentina on penalties.

However, Gakpo was already drawing attention from the big clubs in world football even before the World Cup for his performance at PSV. During the season, the Dutchman scored 13 goals and provided 17 assists (ie 30 direct participations in goals) in 24 games for the Netherlands team.

“The work done towards this (signing) was really impressive and in the end we were able to sign a player that we had known for some time and that we believe will have a very bright future with us,” said German coach Jurgen Klopp.
