“It’s been an unbelievable start to the season and something I never expected, but this [renovação] it just shows that the hard work I’m doing and the loans were worth it,” the player told the team’s official website.
“I tried to impress the coach in the preseason and then take that to the games. It’s been good, and consistency is the key to maintaining this high level,” he added.
Formed on the basis of Blues, Chalobah has gained space in the first team this season alone. He played ten games, eight of them as a starter, and scored two goals. In previous years, he defended Ipswich Town and Huddersfield in England, as well as Lorient, in France.
