Chelsea beat Bournemouth to win again after five English games

This Tuesday, chelsea and Bournemouth faced each other for the 17th round of the English Championship, resumed after the break for the World Cup. At Stamford Bridge, the team led by English coach Graham Potter won again in the tournament after five games (two draws and three defeats). Havertz and Mount scored the goals of the 2-0 triumph. Brazilian defender Thiago Silva was in the starting line-up and played the whole time.

With the result, Londoners are in eighth place on the leaderboard, with 24 points, six behind Tottenham, the first team within the Champions League zone. The team from the south of England occupies the 14th position, with 16.

In the next round, Chelsea visit Nottingham Forest, next Sunday, at 1:30 pm (Brasília time). Bournemouth, in turn, receives Crystal Palace, on Saturday, at 12:00 (Brasília time).

English coach Graham Potter sent Chelsea to the field with: Kepa; Reece James (Azpilicueta), Koulibaly, Thiago Silva and Cucurella; Jorginho, Zakaria (Gallagher) and Mount; Pulisic (Aubameyang), Havertz and Sterling (Chalobah).

Right at the start of the game, Brazilian defender Thiago Silva felt discomfort and moved with difficulty for a few minutes, but recovered and continued on the field. At eight, Chelsea had their first chance, with Havertz heading off after a Cucurella cross.

At 15, the hosts opened the scoring. Sterling received it on the right and crossed low for Havertz to complete with a tackle to the back of the net.

Chelsea’s second goal came at 23. The ball fell to Havertz inside the area, the German just adjusted it for Mount to beat from the edge of the area and swing the net.

At 43 minutes, the Londoners even put the ball inside the goal for the third time. However, the goal was annulled by a lack of Havertz on the move. Four minutes later, Sterling had another chance, but Travers stopped it.

Second time

In the second stage, at 18 minutes, Chelsea came close to the third goal. Mason Mount advanced through the middle to the area and hit hard, but stopped in a new defense by Travers.

At 27, the Londoners had another opportunity, this time with Koulibaly. The Senegalese defender received a cross in the area, but headed it out.

Bournemouth had a chance to reduce the score at 33. Christie received it in the area on the right, advanced and hit hard, forcing Kepa to work.

At 38, Gallagher almost extended to Chelsea. The midfielder received it in the area after a counterattack, cleared the marker and kicked, but ended up hitting another opponent.
