The creams won at home 2-1 to Deportivo Saprissa of Costa Rica. In the next phase they will measure Guastatoya, with which Guatemala ensures a finalist.
The Communications from Guatemala advanced this Wednesday at Concacaf League semifinals when going back home 2-1 (5-5) to the Costa Rican Saprissa and Guastatoya, also from Guatemala, will be measured in the penultimate phase.
They were two head goals those who gave victory to those led by Uruguayan Willy Coito; first the Costa Rican Andrés Lezcano and, later, the definitive Ecuadorian Juan Anangonó.
Saprissa, led by former international Mauricio Wright, had temporarily tied the match, with a gol del enorme central Kendall Waston, whose annotation, also headed, signified the classification of the Monster to the semifinals in the Concacaf competition.
The Communications went ahead at minute 13 in a corner kick, in the first arrival of the Guatemalans to the opposite field, after a start without a clear leader of the ball.
But just five minutes later Waston equalized the cards and put the advantage on the aggregate scoreboard for the visitors, in another set piece caused by an innocent foul by the cream defense and that the Argentine Mariano Torres placed precisely in the area dominated by the Tico center-back.
It seemed the end of the Guatemalan team and enough for the Costa Ricans. The first half disappeared without another shock and with a diluted midfield, with more long deliveries than creative plays that changed the fate of the actions.
But, in the complement, At minute 63, Comunicaciones took another play out of the hat in an advance by the right sector of the rapid of Oscar Santís, the hero of the first game for the Albos, who leaked to the last line for Stheven Robles, who sent a A past center that Waston and David did not measure well and that Anangonó took advantage of to cross the goalkeeper, Aarón Cruz.
The advantage refreshed a thick dispute of the ball and Professor Coito sent lines to advance his men, who defended the result with pressure and in the opposite field. There, without Santis on the playing field, featured the Salvadoran Alexander Larín and the Honduran Junior Lacayo, who dominated the rest of the match on the wings.
Saprissa tried even with Bolaños already on the court and with the Argentine Torres multiplied, but based on infertile centers, except for two saves by Kevin Moscoso, which were also valid for the comeback.
With the tie on the global scoreboard for having scored three goals in Costa Rica, Comunicaciones advanced to the semifinals, where I know will measure Guastatoya in two games that will determine a Guatemalan finalist who will await the winner of the key between the Canadian Forge and the Honduran Motagua.
