Argentine national team players who returned home from the World Cup in Qatar had to be evacuated from the streets of Buenos Aires by helicopter. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

The championship parade of the team was planned in the center of the Argentine capital, but too many people took to the streets of the city – about 3-4 million people. They completely paralyzed traffic in Buenos Aires. For security reasons, the authorities decided to put the players on helicopters and cancel the solemn part.

Earlier, a resident of Buenos Aires, Julia Love, spoke about the holiday in Argentina after the country’s victory at the World Cup. “People walked after the victory until the morning and will celebrate until Christmas at least,” she shared.

On December 18, Argentina defeated France in the final match of the tournament in Qatar. Regular time ended with the score 2:2. In extra time, the teams scored one more goal each. In the penalty shootout, Argentina turned out to be stronger – 4: 2.
