Brazilian Football Confederation sued for mistreatment of cat at World Cup 2022

According to the source, a group of Brazilian non-governmental organizations, together with the Brazilian National Animal Welfare and Defense Forum, applied to the court. They demanded one million reais ($200,000) from the confederation, a public apology, and a program to train employees in caring for animals.
The incident occurred on December 7 during the pre-match press conference of the Brazilian national team in Qatar. A cat jumped onto the team’s table, after which Vinicius Rodriguez, the press officer of the Brazilians, grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and threw him to the floor.
Brazil lost to Croatia in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. Regular time ended with a score of 0:0, and extra time – 1:1. The meeting ended with the victory of the Croats in the penalty shoot-out – 4:2.
