The tour of the Giro d’Italia 2022, in its 105th edition, will be revealed gradually on five different days depending on the type of stage, according to the profile of the route, this between November 3 and 11.
Unlike the usual in Grand Tours, where the route is revealed in a single ceremony, the organizers of the Giro 2022, which will be held from May 6 to 29, will announce the stages, according to your profile, for several days.
Thus, the organizers of the Corsa Rosa announced this Wednesday the first three stages of their route, which will be held in Hungary, including a time trial on the second day.
The pink race will leave Budapest on May 6, with a stage that will take the caravan to Visegrad, on a 195-kilometer route. The next day there will be a short 9.2 km time trial in the Hungarian capital, with a last kilometer uphill.
The third stage, the last in Hungary, will be for the sprinters. The platoon will roll from Kaposvar to Balatonfüred, on the shores of Lake Balaton, in a stage of 201 kilometers of flat profile, ideal for sprinters.
The appointment with Budapest was scheduled for the 2020 edition, but the program had to be modified after the postponement of the race, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It will be the fourteenth time that the Giro d’Italia has its starting point abroad. The precedent dates back to 2018, when he left Jerusalem.
