O Fluminense confirmed, this Wednesday, the sale of Matheus Martins to Watford. The club from Rio de Janeiro also informed that it kept 10% of the economic rights of the young attacking midfielder.

The English team published, also this Wednesday, that Matheus is training with the squad commanded by Slaven Bilić. The 19-year-old can officially debut for the new team only in 2023.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a journalist specializing in transfers, Martins’ move to European football was sealed by a fixed six million euros, in addition to another three million in bonuses. In this way, the total amounts reach nine million euros (R$ 51 million).
Revealed in Xerém, Matheus Martins debuted in 2021 and stood out in the current season, when he played 41 games, scored six goals and gave five assists. At Watford, he will play alongside João Pedro, another boy from the tricolor base.
