The Mexican Iván Maya was left out due to an illness that will prevent him from reaching a full camp.
Brazilian Franco Lüa will take the place of Iván Maya to face Ecuadorian Aarón Cañarte on November 26 at the professional UWC 30 mixed martial arts (MMA) function.
The Mexican is out of the Ultimate Warrior Challenge Mexico (UWC) event due to an illness that will prevent him from reaching a full camp, so he notified the company of his departure.
The president of the UWC, Alejandro Islas, indicated that the fight plan of Cañarte (7-0-0), from Guayaquil, and now Lüa (2-1-0), from Sao Paulo, continues in welterweight at three rounds, of five minutes each.
Lüa, who like the current flyweight champion of the company, Soslenis da Silva Carvalho (14-12-0), also defends the colors of Babuino Gold Team and will have his long-awaited debut in the UWC cage.
He debuted on July 26, 2019 with a victory over Pedro Lima Alves Pinheiro (4-2-0) by knockout at 4:42 minutes into the third round, to then arrive in Mexico with a victory on July 3 against Yair Salinas in the Budo Sento Championship Vol. 3 tournament.
That tournament was in Xochimilco, Mexico City, and in the final he was defeated by decision by Eddy Alexis Rosaldo Beltrán (3-2-0), so he will arrive at UWC with a thirst for revenge and in search of taking away Cañarte’s undefeated.
The stellar duel of the night is also at 170 pounds when Alfonso Leyva (4-0-0), from Guadalajara, Jalisco, meets Alberto Galera (2-1-0), from Chetumal, Quintana Roo, in combat against three rounds.
UWC 30 will be on Friday, November 26 with a total of nine professional fights to be broadcast from the Entram Gym facilities, in Tijuana, Baja California, with programming starting at 5:00 p.m. local (7:00 p.m. from Ecuador) on the UFC Fight Pass platform.
Ecuadorians Javier Basurto (lightweight) and Andrés Luna Martinetti (featherweight) have also been confirmed on this card.
