With the break in the main competitions of European clubs for the World Cup and the end of the Brazilian season, the transfer market is once again among the main subjects of football. The speculations and rumors, however, started in an unusual way. That’s because Ashton United, a club in the seventh division of England, asked the manchester city the loan of striker Erling Haaland, the highlight of the season.
The club from the city of Ashton-under-Lyn will continue to compete in the seventh division of the English Championship during the Cup. So, with Haaland’s Norway failing to qualify for the World Cup, the team are looking to sign the youngster on a 28-day loan deal, which would keep the striker fit during the game-free period and help Ashton United.
“The Robins have been in contact with our neighbors at the Etihad to maintain Haaland’s fitness with him not involved in Qatar,” the club said in part of the official statement released.
The interest, however, was made in jest, not least because the first division transfer period has already ended. In addition, there is the obvious technical unevenness of the teams and even the player, who will have the World Cup period to rest and prepare.
