Pia Skrzyszowska in the final. Siciarz has fallen off. “Hopelessness”

In the semi-finals of 100 meters, three Polish women started running through the hurdles: Klaudia Siciarz, Pia Skrzyszowska and Klaudia Wojtunik. To qualify for the final, they had to take the first two places in their semi-finals or be in the top two players from the next positions with the best times.

“This is hopeless”

Klaudia Siciarz took part in the first semi-final. The Polish woman overslept a bit at the start and had a poor start. She had to chase her rivals and finally took only fourth place. It had the time of 13.00. The best was the Dutchwoman Nadine Visser (12.74). As a result, Siciarz, in order to qualify to the final, had to hope that no competitor from third place in two consecutive semi-finals would have a better time than her.

– It was my first run in the competition. I had no chance of rubbing myself. In my opinion, this is hopeless – said Siciarz after the run for TVP Sport.

Pia Skrzyszowska ran in the second semi-final and was the favorite. From the beginning of the run, the Polish woman fought an exciting duel with Luca Kozak. Ultimately, Pia Skrzyszowska was the best at the finish, with a time of 12.66. Hungary had a result of 12.69, which gave her the record for Hungary. Klaudia Siciarz was unhappy after this race, because Sarah Lavin, third, had a time of 12.79 and the Polish woman lost her chance to qualify for the final.

Klaudia Wojtunik took part in the third semi-final and she had tough rivals. A Polish woman would have to run great to get a pass to the semi-finals. Wojtunik did very well. She had the time of 13.03 and took fourth place. She was a little short of her personal best (12.97), but she achieved the best result this season. The third semi-final was won by British Cindy Sember (12.62).

– I ran quite decently. I think I fell asleep in the block. I see reserves in this. I am happy with this result, it could have been worse – said Wojtunik for TVP Sport.

Pia Skrzyszowska in the final will run on Sunday at 20.45.
