Saturday was the penultimate day of athletics competition at the European Championships in Munich. Poles had a chance to win medals in four competitions – the women’s 20 km walk, the women’s 800 m run, the women’s 4×400 m relay and the 3000 m steeplechase race.

The first medal for Poland on Saturday at the European Championships in Munich was won by Katarzyna Zdziebo, who took second place in the 20 km walk, losing only to the Greek Antigoni Ntrismpioti by 0.17 seconds.
