Khabib Nurmagomedov suggested that Charles Oliveira would not fight Islam Makhachev
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke about the upcoming fight between Russian fighter Islam Makhachev and Brazilian Charles Oliveira. Nurmagomedov wrote about this in Twitter.
“It seems to me that Charles Oliveira will not appear in Abu Dhabi and the UFC will replace him with Beneil Dariush. Regardless of who will be the opponent, Islam Makhachev is on his way to becoming the best in the world, ”the fighter suggested.
On September 7, Oliveira’s coach Diego Lima assessed the level of Makhachev’s preparation before the fight. “Makhachev is a very good fighter, but he has never fought a top 5 opponent. However, this guy is very cool,” said Lima.
Earlier, 32-year-old Oliveira shared his expectations from the meeting with Makhachev. The Brazilian promised to end the fight in the first round. The bout will headline the UFC Abu Dhabi tournament on October 23rd. Makhachev and Oliveira will compete for the vacant lightweight title of the organization.
