Real Madrid and Manchester United agree to transfer Casemiro and the Red Devils welcome the Brazilian

Real Madrid and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the transfer of Carlos Henrique Casemiro, for an amount close to 70 million euros (70.27 million dollars), and the Brazilian midfielder leaves the White House after eight seasons with the first team, as the fourteenth player in the history of the club with the most titles with a total of 18.

“Real Madrid and Manchester United have agreed on the transfer of the player Carlos Henrique Casemiro,” reads the statement released by the Madrid team. “Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude and affection for Casemiro, a player who is already part of the legend of this club,” he added.

Casemiro arrived at Real Madrid on January 31, 2013 from the Brazilian Sao Paulo in a loan that ended up becoming a purchase for 5.8 million euros. After a fleeting stint at Castilla, he made his debut with the first team and it was precisely Carlo Ancelotti who decided that he would grow up on a one-year loan to Porto.

Since his return in 2015 he was already indisputable in the midfield of Real Madrid, a club from which he leaves after playing 336 games (289 starts), scoring 31 goals and winning 18 titles: 5 Champions Leagues, 3 Leagues, 1 Cup del Rey, 3 Spanish Super Cups, 3 European Super Cups and 3 Club World Cups.

‘Looking forward to welcoming you’

United confirmed at the same time as Madrid the incorporation of Casemiro, whom they are “looking forward to welcoming” at their stadium, Old Trafford.

“Casemiro has played more than 500 professional games, including 63 at international level with his native Brazil. He has won 18 major titles in his illustrious career, including five Champions Leagues and the Copa América. We are looking forward to welcoming Casemiro to Old Trafford,” the English club wrote on their website.

The Brazilian thus becomes Manchester United’s first reinforcement after the Premier League began with two defeats, 1-2 against Brighton and 4-0 against Brentford, which make him occupy last place in the domestic competition.

Of course, the English team assured that the transfer is subject to the “agreement in personal terms, the United Kingdom visa and the medical examination”, although there should be no problem.

Casemiro will join the dynamics of his new club 100% after the farewell ceremony for Real Madrid that will take place at the club’s Ciudad Deportiva next Monday, August 22. (D)
