Petr Yan expressed confidence that he would get a title fight if he won one or two fights
Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Petr Yan estimated the likelihood of getting a title fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). An interview with the athlete is available on the promotion’s YouTube channel.
Yang expressed confidence that he would get the opportunity to fight for the belt if he won one or two fights. “You just have to win,” he concluded.
On October 22, Yan will face American Sean O’Malley as part of the UFC 280 tournament in Abu Dhabi. In the main event of the evening, Russian Islam Makhachev and Brazilian Charles Oliveira will compete for the lightweight champion belt.
On April 9 at UFC 273, Yan lost to Aljamain Sterling in their second bout and failed to regain the bantamweight championship. The fight ended with the victory of the American by a decision.
