Atletico could sell Antoine Griezmann for Cristiano Ronaldo
Atlético Madrid may part ways with French striker Antoine Griezmann for the opportunity to acquire Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. The Times reports.
Madrid will be forced to sell one of the club’s stars in order to afford the transfer of the 37-year-old Portuguese striker. The financial rules of the championship of Spain will not allow to pay salaries to both players. One of the contenders for Griezmann is Paris Saint-Germain.
Earlier it became known that Ronaldo is ready to move to the camp of Madrid. Before that, it was reported that Barcelona, contrary to rumors, is not interested in inviting the Portuguese.
Interest in Ronaldo was attributed to Chelsea, Napoli, Roma and PSG. The striker is keen to leave Manchester United as he intends to continue playing in the Champions League. The Red Devils failed to secure participation in the Champions League at the end of the season.
