The 44-year-old American, who became a contender for the UFC champion belt, is convinced that Chimaev did not show anything new in the octagon. “Yes, he can break into a cage, knock a guy off his feet. So what? Haven’t we seen something like this before? ” Sonnen says.

Chimaev had four fights within the UFC and won four wins. At UFC 267, he won the performance bonus of the evening. He finished the fight ahead of schedule against the Chinese Jingliang, using a choke hold.
