The collision between a motorcycle and a taxi caused a couple traveling in the light vehicle to suffer injuries and later a woman died.
It was the first of two accidents that caused the death of two people early this Sunday in two sectors of Portoviejo. The incident in which Pamela Mendoza Macías, 22, died and caused injuries to Xavier Cevallos (her partner) was recorded on Avenida 15 de Abril, near the Portoviejo land terminal.
Hugo Navia Sánchez, agent of the Traffic Accident Investigation Office (OIAT), of the Ecuadorian Traffic Commission (CTE), indicated that the hypothesis of the accident would be a rear-end collision type.

“The taxi driver left the scene and his whereabouts are unknown; The case is being investigated,” Navia stated.
The second accident was recorded on Urbina Avenue, north of Portoviejo. Adrián Alcívar, OIAT agent, pointed out that the driver of a motorcycle had lost lane and had an accident, a fact that will be corroborated with the investigations.
