As of today, seven authorized centers in Quito for vehicle technical inspection

Progressively, from July 15, users will be able to access more appointments, via the Internet, for the Vehicle Technical Review in Quito.

According to the director of the Metropolitan Transit Agency, Silvana Vallejo, this Friday morning 14,000 shifts were generated. She reported that progressively, users will be able to access more appointments to carry out the Vehicle Technical Review (RTV) in the capital.

As of this Friday, the shifts for vehicular technical revision were enabled in Quito in seven centers:

  • Bicentennial Center
  • Los Chillos, Guajalo
  • San Isidro
  • Florida High
  • Carapungo
  • Guamani

It is expected that until July 31, 2022, 92,620 vehicles will be reviewed.

Step by step for RTV

Before obtaining a shift, you must pay the pending values ​​of the registration, the filming tax, the traffic violations and the road maintenance fee of the Prefecture of Pichincha.

According to Vallejo, this process of visual inspection of motor vehicles has the primary objective of guaranteeing the minimum safety conditions of the vehicles, based on their design and manufacturing criteria. In addition, it allows verifying that they comply with technical regulations and that they maintain a level of polluting emissions that does not exceed the maximum limits established in current regulations.

The project will have 22 lines to supply a demand of around 510 thousand revisions in this second semester, taking into account the average annual growth rate of 3% for all transport categories, thus responding to the needs of the population.

Regarding the fines, Vallejo said that citizens can be calm this July since they will not apply to vehicles whose plates end in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. (YO)
