Judge Ronal Cevallos, this Sunday, June 19, ordered alternative measures such as the presentation and prohibition of leaving the country to three defendants in the investigation for alleged crimes of abuse of powers and transportation of weapons, related to the Leandro Norero case.
Police confirm that mansion in the name of Leandro Norero’s wife belonged to a case involving hospital corruption
This was announced by the State Attorney General’s Office tonight in a statement. There it was detailed that charges were filed against Jairo Fernando VM for alleged transportation of a weapon. He was apprehended outside Leandro NT’s house, in an urbanization on the way to Samborondón, when he was taking out suitcases from inside the building.
While the other two are active-duty police officers who would have entered the aforementioned urbanization in the company of the legal representative of the defendant (for money laundering) Leandro NT, they were prosecuted for alleged abuse of powers.
However, it was detailed that despite the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office requested preventive detention for the three defendants, Judge Ronal Cevallos ordered the presentation and prohibition of leaving the country for them.
Leandro Norero was prosecuted by the Prosecutor’s Office for the alleged crime of money laundering after being arrested in a house in Samborondón where at least $6 million in cash, gold bars and other items were found. In addition, he faked his death to evade justice in Peru for alleged drug trafficking.
This Sunday also, in an extraordinary session, the plenary session of the Judiciary Council, unanimously, decided to suspend Judge Ángel L., of the Multicompetent Unit of La Concordia, for an alleged very serious infraction established in article 109, number 7 of the Organic Code of the Judicial Function.
This is how Leandro Norero evaded the Peruvian authorities and deactivated the process for trafficking against him
This, because the judge of La Concordia ordered on Friday to return to Leandro Norero a house that was raided almost a month ago. The house was seized and handed over to the Technical Secretariat of Real Estate Management on May 25 by a judicial decision. (YO)
