How to sign up for Imserso (2021-2022)

More than ever, the lucky people who qualify for the Imserso trips they awaited its resumption after a year and a half suspended by the pandemic. The pensioners and companions enjoy the departures between October 2021 and June 2022. These are the steps to follow to sign up for Imserso and all the details related to travel programs.

Abbreviations Imserso mean Institute for the Elderly and Social Services. This institute created in 1978 and belonging to the Government of Spain is mainly dedicated to managing the complementary services of the Social Security System benefits and the administration of disability and retirement pensions.

One of its best known activities is its social tourism (vacation trips) and the social thermalism (accommodation in spas) for the elderly. As they explain on their website, the objective of this program is to improve the quality of life of the elderly, providing them with trips that are beneficial to their health while they carry out leisure and cultural activities.

What is an Imserso trip

An Imserso trip is a tourism program dedicated especially to the elderly at very affordable prices. These programs have been created to promote a leisure and tourism space for these people. This time the trips arrive with changes adapted for security measures due to COVID-19 and thus offer all travelers a safe stay.

How to join the Imserso

There are several methods that facilitate registration for Imserso trips. The main one of all and, above all, the most recommended, is telematics, through the Electronic Headquarters, which you can access by clicking here. If this is the first time you are going to sign up, you will need to register by filling in a form.

There is also another option: you can download the form, fill it in and record it by mail to the address of the Imserso Central Services located at Calle Ginzo de Limia, 58 – 28029, Madrid.

The last enrollment method is the presential at the aforementioned headquarters.

However, if you have already been registered in the Imserso you will not have to do it again. They will contact you to offer you the new destinations by mail. Of course, remember to notify your address or contact changes if necessary. To update this type of information, you just have to access through Cl @ ve and put the reference number that each user finds in their annual Imserso letter.

Requirements to sign up for Imserso trips

TO). People can join the Imserso residents in Spain that meet any of the following requirements:

1. Being a retirement pensioner from the Spanish Social Security system.

2. Being a widowhood pensioner aged 55 or over from the Spanish Social Security system.

3. Being a pensioner for other concepts of the Spanish Social Security system or a recipient of unemployment benefits or subsidies, with 60 years of age or more.

4. Be an insured or beneficiary of the Spanish Social Security System, aged 65 or over.

B). Spaniards residing abroad provided they meet any of the requirements included in section 1.a). Thus, Spaniards residing in Germany, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Holland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland will be able to process it at the corresponding Labor, Migration and Social Security Councils.

C). Spaniards of emigrant origin who have returned to Spain, as long as they are pensioners of the public Social Security systems of the country or countries to which they have emigrated.

Requirements to be a companion for Imserso trips

Regarding the requirements to be a companion for Imserso trips, the main condition is to be a spouse, a common-law partner or maintain a stable relationship with the traveler. If these requirements are met then it will not be necessary for them to be pensioners / retirees, or to be of the required age, or to be beneficiaries of social security to be able to travel with them.

Likewise, they may be accompanied by children with disabilities, to a degree equal to or greater than 45%, as long as they travel with their parents and stay in the same room or, where appropriate, pay the supplement established for double rooms for individual use, which will be subject to the availability of places.

In any case, the users of places and their companions must fend for themselves to carry out the basic activities of daily life.

Destinations, prices and registration deadlines Imserso travel 2021

The programmed destinations are as follows:

A) Peninsular coastal area: Andalusia, Catalonia, Valencian Community and Murcia with transport included

– Accommodation for 10 days, 9 nights and its price of € 269.83

– Accommodation of 8 days and 7 nights, for € 212.96

B) Peninsular coastal area: Andalusia, Catalonia, Valencian Community and Murcia without transport

– Accommodation of 10 days and 9 nights for € 235.95

– Accommodation for 8 days and 7 nights for € 196.02

C) Insular coastal zone: Canary Islands and Balearic Islands with transport included

– Accommodation of 10 days and 9 nights for € 308.37

– Accommodation of 8 days and 7 nights for € 248.96

D) Insular coastal zone: Canary Islands and Balearic Islands without transport

– Accommodation of 10 days and 9 nights for € 236.07

– Accommodation for 8 days and 7 nights for € 195.78

E) Inland Tourism:

– Cultural circuits 6 days and 5 nights for € 272.71

– Nature Nature 5 days and 4 nights for € 266.81

– Provincial capitals: 4 days and 3 nights for € 115.98

– Ceuta or Melilla 5 days 4 nights for € 266.81

These prices include:

Accommodation: double room to share. If the beneficiary wishes a room for individual use, the following supplement per night will be included:

O € 20 CA Illes Balears and peninsular coastal area.

O 23 € CA Canary Islands

O € 25 inland tourism.

Full board, except for trips to provincial capitals where the scheme is half board.

Transport, except in the modalities in which it is not expressly included and in trips to provincial capitals.

Christmas and New Year’s Shifts: includes a supplement of € 20 per person for each gala lunch or dinner (gala dinners: December 24 and 31. Gala meals: December 25 and January 1).

The registration dates for new applications are from July 1 to July 30, 2021, the last day inclusive. This year the Government has 816,029 places available and the first trips are scheduled to begin in October. Regarding the limit of trips per year, there is no limit, you can make more than one, but it all depends on the number of places available and if your place is approved after receiving your application.

How to request the return of Imserso trips

Regarding returns, if in any case any unforeseen event has arisen or you do not feel like traveling, but you have already registered and paid, then you have the right to request a refund and cancel the trip.

You can do it through the website: www.mundiplan.es by entering your reservation by identifying yourself with your ID and the reference number that has previously been reflected at the top of the accreditation letter that has been sent to you by mail. In one section, there is a section in which a form has been provided to fill in with all the necessary information that they request to make their refund correctly.

Imserso Thermalism Program

Another very interesting option is the spa program. It is a grant in a spa selected for the purpose of improving your health and well-being. The thermalism program has of the categories for this year:

A) 12 days and 11 nights (10 days of treatment).

B) 10 days and 9 nights (8 days of treatment).

This program includes the above-mentioned stay, full board, a medical follow-up of the treatment in the spa, free leisure activities offered by the spa itself and the basic thermal treatments, based on the medical examinations and studies that will be carried out as soon as you arrive. adapt to all your needs.
