They find 215 kilos of drugs in a truck that was circulating in the province of Orellana

Vehicle kept the illicit substance in a hidden compartment. One person was arrested.

Intelligence units of the National Police detected drugs inside a car in the middle of the control operations carried out to prevent the transport of drugs through second-order roads between the Amazonian cities of Coca (Orellana) and Tena (Napo).

Initially, the police officers tried to stop the march of a gray truck that was circulating on a route that leads to Tena, but the driver accelerated the march of the car to evade control and flee the place, last Sunday the 31st.

After that, the police officers began a chase and managed to intercept the vehicle about 100 meters from the scene. When conducting an inspection of the truck, it was observed that the drawer was empty, but had a double bottom, said Second Lieutenant Orlando Hernández, chief of the Orellana Judicial Police. Given the suspicions of the transport of illicit substances, they coordinated with Criminalistics personnel the respective fixing of evidence and the car was transferred to the Police Command of the city of Coca.

In the search of the hidden compartment, the uniformed officers found 200 brick-shaped packages with a yellow envelope and a legend that reads “R-6”. Similarly, on the right side of the vehicle’s dashboard, 3 packages of the same shape were found with a black wrap. Likewise, 12 similar blocks were located in the emergency tire.

After the field test, the load was positive for cocaine hydrochloride, with an equivalent weight of 215 kilos.

Among the evidences, 2 mobile terminals, the emergency tire, and the detained vehicle were seized.

The evidence was entered into the Antinarcotics Collection and Evidence Center (CAIE) of the province of Orellana, with the proper chain of custody, for the corresponding expertise and investigations. The apprehended was at the orders of the competent authority.

The driver Edgar A., ​​34, of Ecuadorian nationality, was detained for investigations. He does not have a criminal record, according to police information. (I)
