500 libadores were removed from the public thoroughfare in Esmeraldas

The agglomeration of people in public spaces forced the intervention of authorities in various sectors of Esmeraldas, between the night of this Sunday 31 and early morning of this Monday, November 1.

In one of the intervened sites, the integrated system of cameras of the ECU911 reported at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, a high influx of citizens and traffic congestion on the boardwalk of Las Palmas, north of the Emerald capital.

Some 500 libadores were removed from the public thoroughfare by personnel from the Intendancy, National Police and municipal traffic agents (Esvial), at dawn last Sunday. After the operation, a large amount of garbage, liquor bottles and other evidence were evidenced in the Las Palmas sector.

Other crowds occurred for the Halloween party (Witches’ Party) and the holiday of the dead and Independence of Cuenca, which concentrated the public in places of nightlife. Several citizens requested the police intervention for public dances that lasted until the early hours of this Monday 1.

In addition, a large flow of tourists and visitors was also evidenced in the resorts of the Atacames canton, Las Peñas, Achilube, Muisne and those of fresh water such as Vuelta Larga and Tabiazo. In some cases they did not comply with certain sanitary regulations.

Suspended parade in Santo Domingo

Failure to comply with the start time of the programming of a parade led to the suspension of the program, indicated the Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas Police Department, on Saturday 31. The equestrian meeting was scheduled for 12:00 and there was a time of extension, it was indicated.

Delegates of that entity with the support of national police officers carried out the eviction of the place, since some participants tried to carry out the event outside the established hours. (I)
