In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 60 settlements were affected by large-scale fires that engulfed the region on Saturday. This is reported by TASS with reference to emergency services.

According to the agency, 60 settlements and two gardening associations were affected in 29 districts. In total, the fire destroyed 827 buildings, including 518 residential buildings, a feldsher-midwife station and a kindergarten.

Earlier it was reported that five people died in the fires, 14 were injured. The fires were caused by strong winds, broken power lines, short circuits and careless handling of fire.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin listened to reports on measures to eliminate natural fires from the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss and the acting head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Alexander Chupriyan and instructed to take measures to help the families and friends of the victims, as well as those who lost their homes. Chupriyan and the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov flew to the region.

In his Telegram channel, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Sholban Kara-ool expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims, wished Alexander Uss “to cope with all the trials, complete all tasks to support the victims” and expressed his readiness to provide support.
