Sectors with accumulation of rainwater: El Recreo, Chimbacalle, La Villaflora, Roundabout of Chaguarquingo, Pío XII, Colegio Tarqui, Avenida Napo, Chiriyacu.
Several video surveillance cameras, of the 900 that the Zonal Center ECU911 Quito has, located in strategic places in the capital, managed to capture an intense rain in the city on the afternoon of this Monday, November 1.
The video surveillance room identified several sites that had accumulated rainwater: El Recreo, Chimbacalle, La Villaflora, Chaguarquingo circle, Pío XII, Colegio Tarqui, Avenida Napo, Chiriyacu and other neighborhoods in the south of Quito.
In Corazón and Casitagua streets, the accumulation of water forced two cars to stop for a few minutes. In the Chaguarquingo ring there was also the presence of hail.
Until the afternoon of Monday 1, the ECU911 emergency line did not receive reports of serious incidents, because the rain, although heavy, did not last long. However, the collapse of sinkholes and the entry of water to several homes in El Recreo, Chimbacalle, Villaflora and Pío XII were reported. Faced with this situation, personnel and Units of the Quito Fire Brigade and other relief entities responded to these alerts.
The call and video surveillance team of the ECU911 and the articulated entities remain alert to attend to any emergency related to the rains (I).
