The plenary session of the Judicial Council (CJ) archived the investigation file that was initiated against Juan Carlos Izquierdo, fiscal agent of the El Carmen canton, Manabí.
Izquierdo was suspended after being pointed out by the family of Naomi Arcentales, former partner of the prosecutor. The young woman died on December 12 in Manta and the family believes that her ex-partner was involved. She was found dead in an apartment in an exclusive area of Manta.
Julio César Cueva, Izquierdo’s lawyer, confirmed the CJ’s decision; but he added that until this Friday, April 29, he had not been reinstated as such in his position.
“No (restitution) has been made, that is, the Judiciary has not assigned him the place where he must work. In other words, she should work, but they don’t tell her where,” Cueva confirmed to this newspaper.
He pointed out that he has suggested that for his safety he could be relocated to another judicial facility in Manabí.
The CJ has indicated that the measure adopted by them to suspend an official from activities cannot last more than 90 days and, given this, it was decided to revoke the preventive measure of suspension of the exercise of functions of the Left judicial server.

Luigi García, defense attorney for the Arcentales Sabando family, confirmed the decision of the CJ, because he argued that there were not enough elements to open a summary, according to the news of Ecuavisa.
García indicated that they continue to contribute independent elements within the complaint they have filed against Izquierdo, whom they point to as a suspect in the death of Naomi Arcentales, an action that is currently being investigated in Quito. (I)
