The German manufacturer of figured marmalade Haribo has warned Russian retail chains about the suspension of the supply of its products, including the famous gummy bears. It is reported by “Kommersant”.

The reason for this decision is the conflict in Ukraine, which exacerbated the “already difficult economic situation” in the country, leading to higher prices for raw materials, changing supply chains and increasing the cost of logistics. As noted in the letter, the decision taken by the global office to suspend deliveries to the Russian Federation until further notice does not mean a downtime announcement or withdrawal from the local market. Haribo’s activities in Russia remain, the company asks retail chains not to terminate supply contracts, to provide a delay for the fulfillment of obligations and not to apply sanctions.

Haribo, founded in 1920, operates 16 factories around the world. Haribo’s revenue in Russia in 2021 amounted to 2.1 billion rubles, net profit – 102.5 million rubles.
