Documentation to renew the DNI

To make the management of renewing the DNI it is necessary to go to the appointment with the following documentation:

– A recent color photograph of the face of the applicant, size 32×26 millimeters, with a plain white uniform background, taken from the front without dark glasses or any other garment that may prevent or hinder the identification of the person. (Photograph must clearly show the oval of the face, including eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth and chin, and must be of high resolution and on good quality photographic paper). If your hair is covered due to your religion, photographs with a veil will be accepted, but the oval of the face must appear completely uncovered from the hairline to the chin, in such a way that it does not impede or hinder your identification

– The previous ID (In case of loss or misplacement, a prior report or communication of such incident to the expedition team will be required). In the event of a chip loss, the DNI-e must be treated as a damaged document, and its holder is obliged to obtain a duplicate, as established in article 8 of Royal Decree 1553/2005, of December 23 , in which it is stipulated that “the replaced documents will lose the character of a National Identity Document, as well as the effects that the legal system attributes to it with respect to its owner”.

– In case of change of address, with respect to the one that appears in the previous Document, certificate or registration form of the City Council where the applicant has his domicile, issued with a maximum of three months in advance of the date of the request for the DNI. Note: These documents will not be necessary if the interested party authorizes, at the time of processing, the dispatch team to consult the address data by accessing the Residence Data Verification System.
