The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) issued an alert for rains and electrical storms valid until April 22 in a large part of continental Ecuador, this in continuity with that issued in previous days and due to the continuity of variable intensity rainfall.
In development bulletin 14 it was indicated that the highest intensity rains will occur in the north, south and areas of the country’s mountain range between April 19 and 21.

In the case of the Coastal region, the rains will focus on the north and interior of the region during the night and early morning, these being the areas with the most intense rainfall.
In the Interandean Alley, the rains will be of variable intensity, the most relevant events will focus on the north and south. In the Amazon, precipitation will be largely widespread and will be accompanied by scattered storms.
The entity explained that there could be accumulation of water in homes, businesses and susceptible roads, as well as increased flows and overflows of bodies of water. (I)
