The Plenary of the National Electoral Council (CNE) proclaimed the results of the merit and opposition contest to integrate the collegiate bodies of the Higher Education Council (CES) and the Higher Education Quality Assurance Council (Caces) for the period 2021 -2026.
This Saturday, April 16, 2022, the CNE Plenary heard the reports presented by the Technical Commission regarding the proclamation of final results of the applicants for representatives of the two councils.
53 applicants will take a written and oral test to integrate the CES and Caces
Once the qualification phase for the contest was concluded and once the inexistence of pending resources in the administrative and electoral dispute had been verified, the Technical Commission totaled the scores for each of the applicants in the evaluation of merits and opposition.
In this way, we proceed to verify that, for the designation of the members of both the CES and the Caces, the following criteria are respected: gender, territorial balance and area of knowledge. According to the results, at the CES, the members would be: Erik Pablo Beltrán Ayala, Catalina Elizabeth Vélez Verdugo, Paúl Leonardo Medina Vásquez, Ángela del Rocío Calderón Tobar, Fidel Márquez Sánchez and Carmita Leonor Álvarez Santana.
CNE summons applicants for public tender for renewal of CES and CACES
The tests were held in July 2021. There, a total of 53 applicants were admitted to participate in the public contest, in which 41 people applied for the CES with representatives of the academy and five candidates to represent the students. Another seven, on the other hand, aspired to be part of Caces. (I)
