A man was shot in the Mariuxi Febres Cordero cooperative, Guasmo sur, less than 24 hours after the national government announced a series of actions in the Playita del Guasmo with the aim of counteracting criminal acts in the city.
The incident occurred this Saturday, April 9, around 11:30.

According to preliminary information, two 9mm caliber shell casings were found at the scene of the incident, as well as two deformed bullets.
Unidentified subjects would have fired several shots, the Police said, without giving further details of the event or the condition of the victim.

Guayaquil, which together with Durán and Samborondón makes up Zone 8, had 352 crimes as of Friday morning, 215 more cases than in the same period last year.
