The five people arrested in the parking lot of the Ministry of Defense, in Quito, on the afternoon of Thursday, April 7, who were found with bags full of cash, a firearm and two vehicles, were prosecuted for the alleged crime of illegal collection of money.
On the night of Friday, April 8, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that the detainees they carried a total of $131,656 and that one of the vehicles was reported stolen. The Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against the five and the judge in charge ruled preventive prison.
On the day of his arrest, he was also in the Miguel Ángel Nazareno ministry complex, known as Don Nazar, but managed to escape through the back of the building, before the police arrived, he recognized the state portfolio.
Don Nazar, promoter of the bigmoney platformwhich operated in Quevedo without authorization, offered its clients a 90% interest in eight days for the resources they invested in the system. For this reason, he faces a process for the crime of illegal money raising.
After the events that occurred in the Ministry of Defencethe head of that entity, Luis Hernández, announced that they started investigations to find those responsible for entering the complex Naza and the other five people. (I)
