Ukraine may be provided with long-range air defense systems. The US and its allies are talking about deliveries at various levels, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said, Interfax reports.

According to him, negotiations are being actively conducted, “not only at the level of the minister, but also at other levels.” Kirby added that they are discussing the supply of air defense systems to Kiev “that they are comfortable using, that they are trained in, that they already have at their disposal.”

I would like to do it “as soon as possible,” Kirby added, but acknowledged that so far there are no specific agreements with the United States. It is up to other countries to decide,” Kirby explained, given that they are using the weapons in self-defense and whether they will be able to protect themselves once they are handed over to Ukraine.

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In response to this decision, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia. The Russian and Ukrainian delegations held a series of talks on the situation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the hope that the Russian special operation in Ukraine will end with the signing of comprehensive documents. They will touch upon the issues of the neutral status of Ukraine, security and the law on the Russian language.
