Natalya Denisova, a dietitian at the Federal Research Center for Nutrition, Biotechnology and Food Safety, criticized three popular types of diet and talked about their consequences for human health.
According to her, the human digestive system is designed by nature to digest mixed food. Separate nutrition, an alkaline diet and a diet according to the blood type can result in a violation of the balance of nutrients in the body.
“The body constantly needs all the nutrients at the same time, metabolic processes go on in the body non-stop, so this theory does not stand up to criticism,” Denisova told the Moscow agency, warning about the danger of any one-sided preference for any type of food.
The doctor urged the Russians to be careful with an alkaline diet. “Human blood pH is a constant value, regulated and maintained by blood buffer systems, and it will not be possible to change it with the help of food products,” the nutritionist explained.
Denisova also assessed the diet by blood type. “The division by genetic differences that determine the blood type is not justified. This concept of nutrition has no evidence and justification, ”concluded the doctor. Overall, she recommends focusing on a balanced diet high in dietary fiber and a proper drinking regimen.
Earlier, the doctor Denisova warned about the dire consequences of skipping breakfast.
