The half million doses will be added to the efforts of the Ecuadorian Government in the Vaccination Plan 9/100.
Ecuador received this Saturday a donation of 500,000 doses of Coronavac- Sinovac vaccines donated by China, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry indicated that half a million doses will be added to the efforts of the Ecuadorian Government in the Vaccination Plan 9/100, as the initiative to vaccinate nine million people in the first hundred days of Government was called. Guillermo Lasso, who assumed power on May 24.
The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, César Montaño; the Minister of Public Health, Ximena Garzón, and the Chinese Ambassador to Ecuador, Chen Gouyou, among other authorities.
Since the pandemic began, Ecuador has received donations of vaccines, medical supplies and technical assistance from the Chinese government, the Foreign Ministry recalled.
“The solidarity of the People’s Republic of China makes it possible to further strengthen the ties of cooperation and friendship between the two countries, strengthened with the diplomatic efforts of the Foreign Ministry,” the statement concluded. (I)
