A third of NATO member states do not see Ukraine as part of the alliance, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an exclusive interview for Czech Television.

According to him, “they even openly declared it.” At the same time, the doors of NATO “remain open for Ukraine,” Zelensky added.

Recall that earlier the Ukrainian president said that “Ukraine will not join NATO, and this must be recognized”. In turn, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken argued that Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO was not a concession to Russia, but “a reflection of reality.”

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, EU, UK, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
