The Tverskoy Court of Moscow refused to adjourn a hearing on the suit of the Prosecutor General’s Office to ban the activities of the Meta company after calling for violence against the Russian military.
According to Interfax, thus, the court rejected the petition of the lawyers of Meta Platforms. Judge Olga Solopova also did not give the company more time to prepare for the meeting and refused to grant the motion to terminate the proceedings.
Meta representatives insisted that the Moscow court could not consider this claim, since it was a foreign company that was not located in the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office filed a lawsuit demanding that Meta be recognized as an extremist organization and banned in Russia. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against Meta after calls for violence against Russian citizens.
Recall that on March 14, Roskomnadzor blocked Meta Instagram (included by Roskomnadzor in the register of banned sites), and Facebook – from March 4.
