Cars have risen in price in the Russian Federation after the recognition of the independence of the LDNR (February 21) and the start of a special operation in the Donbass (February 24). This is written by Vedomosti, which collected information from car dealers who have to work under Western sanctions.
For a month, the newspaper notes, the growth in the cost of “iron horses” (and 83% of them in Russia – local assembly) ranged from 30 to 60%. It recalls that during this time the ruble lost 24% against the dollar and 21% against the euro. The rise in price is due to the fact that the share of foreign components in cars is still large, which are purchased for foreign currency.
Earlier, the Avtostat agency reported that in 2021 the weighted average price of a new passenger car in the country increased to 2 million rubles. – that is, an increase of 18%.
Last week it became known that in the Russian Federation used cars of popular brands rose in price by 15-32%. The top 10 brands in terms of price growth during this period were headed by Mercedes-Benz (4.52 million rubles) and BMW (3.49 million). At the same time, the European Union adopted the fourth package of anti-Russian sanctions, which banned the export of cars worth more than 50 thousand euros to the country.
