A common system for blocking spam calls and SMS messages will appear in Russia in the second quarter of 2022. This is reported by Izvestia with reference to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).

“To work more effectively to protect citizens from unwanted advertising, we need to work together with mobile operators. We have already agreed on how this service will work,” said Karina Taukenova, Deputy Head of the FAS.

It is assumed that the subscriber will be able to leave a complaint about advertising received without his consent on the website of the FAS or his operator. After that, customers will promptly receive a response from their operator, and the number from which the spam was received will be blocked by all companies connected to the system within 72 hours.

Earlier, Russian mobile operators recorded a new type of calls and SMS from scammers from abroad with calls or requests for help.

“In recent days, we have really noticed a small surge in a new type of calls and SMS from intruders. The problem is not massive, but several people have filed similar complaints. As a rule, these are calls from abroad from robots with calls or requests to help relatives, ”the MTS press service specified.

Tele2 said that they really fix a new type of voice spam.

We add that the Central Bank of the Russian Federation warned about scammers who began to scare Russians with the loss of money due to the disconnection of banks from the international system of interbank transactions and the exchange of information SWIFT.
