World milk prices may increase significantly due to the military operation in Ukraine.

The prices of whole milk powder and anhydrous milk fat have already risen due to disrupted supply chains, according to the Financial Times. These changes are recorded in Australia and New Zealand, which are the largest producers of milk and provide about 35% of the world’s sales of the product.

Also, the rise in prices is affected by a sharp rise in the price of fuel, which increases the cost of transportation.

Due to the military operation in Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and further disruption of global logistics, raw milk prices may rise even more. At the same time, milk remains one of the main products for the food industry in the world, the publication emphasized.

Earlier it was reported that the United States is largely independent of the supply of agricultural products from Russia and Ukraine, but food prices will still rise.
