Residents of Bashkiria complain en masse about a sharp rise in the price of office paper for printing by 2.4-4 or more times. Corresponding messages appear on social networks and on the page of the head of the republic, Radiy Khabirov.
This is announced by the free media platform Proofs.
The Ministry of Trade of Bashkiria commented on the increase in prices for office paper, indicating that this product does not belong to the essentials, so the ministry does not monitor prices. “The current prices for paper are formed according to market principles – an increased demand for a product leads to an increase in its cost,” the Ministry of Trade of the Republic reports.
Earlier it became known that Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill JSC (APPM), which is part of the Austrian Pulp Mill Holding, faced a shortage of imported chemicals and is preparing to launch its own production of a replacement reagent. In order to maintain production volumes, the company is changing its product line and negotiating with suppliers of raw materials from China, Turkey, Southeast Asia and India, the press service of APPM reported. In addition, the enterprise has developed an alternative scheme for the preparation of chlorine dioxide, which makes it possible to exclude sulfur dioxide from the technology. Nevertheless, Russian pulp and paper mills refute the rumors about the suspension of production.
