Western countries, including the United States, are ready to exert sanctions pressure on Russia for as long as they consider it necessary. This, according to TASS, was told to reporters by a senior representative of the State Department.
According to him, Western countries will put pressure on the Russian economy until Russia stops conducting a special operation in Ukraine – “for as long as necessary.”
Recall, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In his speech, he stated that “circumstances require decisive action from Russia” and stressed that “Russia will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons.” In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries (USA, Canada, EU, UK, Japan) announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including financial and economic ones.
