St Petersburg University students called for attention to the page of a user on the social network VKontakte, who writes under the name of St. Petersburg professor Nikolai Mezhevich. His initials coincide with the author of the St. Petersburg State University course on the recent history of Ukraine. In lectures, special attention is paid to “national myths”, which in Ukraine “were turned into reality.”

The student telegram channel Studen drew attention to the page signed with the name of Nikolai Mezhevich. The author, in particular, published a photo of the documents of New York Times correspondent Brent Reno, who was killed in Ukraine, with a joyful emotion. “I’ll buy a liberal’s liver, don’t offer stale ones,” the user’s wall was noted.

After the Studen channel drew readers’ attention to Mezhevich’s page, it was closed.

Fontanka tried to contact a St Petersburg University teacher with the same initials. In a conversation with a correspondent, Nikolai Mezhevich said that he did not write dubious posts. Later, in a WhatsApp correspondence, he added that he had closed his VKontakte page as he received threats.
