Warranty obligations of foreign manufacturers of household appliances that have suspended their activities in Russia due to its military operation in Ukraine may cease to be valid. Roman Chetvernykh, an expert in the selection of household appliances, warns about this.
In recent days, many foreign companies have announced the suspension of work in Russia due to the situation around Ukraine, including manufacturers of household appliances and electronics, PRIME notes.
According to the Chetvernys, companies need warranty services, first of all, as a competitive advantage and image component. At the same time, manufacturers pay for such services from their own funds. Therefore, it is still difficult to predict how companies that stop their activities in Russia will behave, Chetvernykh complains.
“If a company in the country no longer earns, then there will be no service. If the brand is gone, then it no longer needs to train craftsmen and supply spare parts to the country, ”the expert pointed out.
Moreover, he added, even if some companies promise to fulfill their warranty obligations, it will be very difficult and even impossible for them to do this due to difficulties in supplying parts.
At the same time, Chetvernykh did not rule out that in the face of reduced competition, the remaining companies on the market may also cancel or reduce warranty obligations.
We also recall that earlier Andrey Bogdanov, head of the infrastructure center of the National Technology Initiative in the Neuronet direction, said that Russian manufacturers can become competitive in world markets due to exchange rate differences and, as a result, reduce the cost of components.
