In less than 24 hours, two hit men were registered in the canton of La Libertad, province of Santa Elena.

The most recent case occurred on the morning of this Saturday, March 19. A man identified as Apolo BM, approximately 35 years old, was killed when leaving the house of his relatives in the Puerto Nuevo neighborhood, via Cautivo.

According to the first investigations, Apolo had 20 entry and exit holes for firearm projectiles and apparently his executioners used a 9-millimeter caliber pistol.

Lieutenant Colonel Wilfrido Salguero, deputy commander of the Santa Elena Police, confirmed that the now deceased had a criminal record in 2011 for possession and possession of controlled substances and in 2019 for illicit association.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the victim was identified as Joel PL, who was murdered while resting in a hammock outside his home in the Jaime Roldós neighborhood.

It was learned that the man had a valid arrest warrant and that a month and a half ago he had been released from prison.

According to the Judicial Council system, he has a long criminal history. In 2013, he was arrested for the crime of possession of controlled substances, while in 2015 he faced another trial for possession of weapons.
