The US authorities are promptly transferring intelligence information to Kiev on the special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, US Deputy Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Ronald Maltry said at a hearing in the US Congress.
According to Maltry, the information shared with the Ukrainian authorities by the US intelligence community “significantly changes the state of affairs.” The military official stressed that this information is “accurate, timely, and action can be taken on its basis.”
At the same time, he refused to speak in more detail on this topic during public hearings. Two other participants in the hearings also refrained from giving details – Pentagon intelligence chief Scott Berrier and head of the US Armed Forces Cyber Command Paul Nakasone. At the same time, Nakasone noted that the United States pursues three main goals, transferring part of its intelligence information to partners in Ukraine. According to him, Washington seeks to “build a coalition”, uncover alleged “disinformation operations”, and also support the operations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin made an emergency appeal to the Russians and announced a special military operation in the Donbass. In response to Russia’s actions, Western countries announced new, tougher sanctions against the Russian Federation, including those of a financial and economic nature.
