Good Faith, THE RIVERS

One subject was arrested after being accused by his 15-year-old daughter of allegedly having abused her since she was 6 years old. The capture of the man took place on the night of Thursday 28, in the Patricia Pilar parish, in Buena Fe, Los Ríos province.

Agents of the National Unit for Investigation and Protection of Children and Adolescents (Unipen) in Los Ríos carried out the capture operation.

The minor also stated that her 36-year-old father forced her to work providing sexual services to other men, for which he charged between $ 20 and $ 30.

Currently the victim is in a shelter in Quito, once she was rescued by the agents, according to Cristhian Ruiz, head of the Unipen de Los Ríos.

“The recommendation in these unfortunate cases is that they should be reported or at least alerted to the Police. The supervision of minors from their social media accounts by parents is important, since many times, in exchange for offers, children and adolescents are deceived by these people dedicated to human trafficking, ”said the agent.

Ricardo Castro, agent of the Unit Against the Crime of Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, said that the other two detainees (aged 63 and 43) were the ones who allegedly paid for the minor, in complicity with the victim’s father .

For this reason, they will also be legally processed by judicial authorities of the Quevedo canton.

“This was a case that was being investigated for several months in Quito. There was a current complaint for sexual abuse against the father of the minor, so the raids were planned and thus achieve the capture of all those involved, “said Castro.

The agent also reported that the minor had lived under the care of her father and grandmother since her mother died, when she was six years old. Since then, according to investigations, the minor had been abused.

The suspects will be prosecuted for sexual crimes and human trafficking, police said. (I)
